Precious PuffersPrecious Puffers

Every moment with an infant is precious and we take advantage of that. We coo, cuddle, rock, sing and bond with your baby. Our specially designed infant care rooms are places where babies feel safe, secure and happy. Personal cribs, separate areas for changing and feeding, and a “no-uncovered-shoes” policy, ensure clean playing, eating and sleeping spaces. Through simple games like peek-a-boo, our loving teachers begin the foundational work for later learning and help infants develop motor skills. But we never forget that you are your child’s most important teacher, so we’ll work with you, give you daily reports and offer tips on how to reinforce what your child learns in his or her time with us. We maintain an open door policy for parents.

You are invited and welcome to visit Coral Reef Academy anytime your children are present but you are asked to avoid visiting during “rest time” as much as possible. We also keep classroom sizes to a minimum, so please make arrangements early.

Toddlers are busy, busy little learners with lots of new things to explore. We specialize in channeling all that energy into things that help toddlers learn and grow. Individual learning centers throughout the classroom let your toddler explore and be adventurous. Coral Reef Academy teachers lead young toddlers through age-appropriate activities to improve coordination, increase verbal skills and learn to problem solve. Toddlers will learn to express themselves through singing, dancing, reading, and art.

Our curriculum is based on the idea that children are naturally curious and motivated to learn. So we provide them with the materials and experiences to help them understand and communicate in ways most meaningful to them.

The older the children are, the more inquisitive they become. At Coral Reef Academy, we do all we can to satisfy that natural curiosity. Your two-year-old is free to be anything from an artist to an engineer. Playing “pretend,” learning games, hands-on activities – these are just a few of the ways we keep kids engaged. Since learning how to relate to others is important, we do large and small group activities every day.  We spend time outside in our large playground equipped with a jungle-gym, climbing toys, sand play and many other hands on, stimulating activities.

Coral Reef Academy encourages kids’ natural curiosity and willingness to try new things, so children can discover the ways that they learn best. In addition to basic skills, your child learns to enjoy self-direction, self-reliance and self-esteem.

Toilet training will also be introduced on an individual basis as your child shows signs of readiness.

Every child’s development is unique and complex. Three year olds learn primarily through exploring, using all senses. They become better able to ignore distractions and focus on tasks at hand. They love to listen to and understand conversations, stories, songs and poems. They are learning their letters and realize that print in a book tells readers what to say. Our three year old classroom is a rich print environment that enables our three year olds to explore through play and our classes provide our 3-year-olds the ability to busily explore their world around them.

At Coral Reef we enable our three’s to perfect motor skills, both gross motor and fine motor with an array of activities that nourishes them both. Children are engaged in activities that are enjoyable to them while they learn the important skills that are going to help prepare them for the upcoming V.P.K class and for Kindergarten.

Preschoolers are like sponges – they soak up knowledge. Coral Reef Academy, follows the guidelines for developmentally appropriate practices set forth by national accrediting associations. Social, verbal, cognitive and physical skills are built through activities that engage children – counting out straws for milk, identifying the first letter of each child’s name, or cooperating to assemble a puzzle. Here they learn everything they need to be prepared for kindergarten and beyond. Within our comfortable, encouraging environment children deepen knowledge, free from the fear of mistakes and failures.

We offer Voluntary Prekindergarten Program at our academy. This program is offered free for all children preparing for kindergarten the following school year. We provide a structured learning environment using the Creative Curriculum. The Creative Curriculum is based on monthly studies which allow children to learn through purposeful play. These studies are based on topics they are familiar with from their everyday lives. Our classrooms are divided into learning areas: Circle time, block center, math/manipulative center, science center, dramatic play, computer center and finally a writing center.  Children also have the opportunity to play outdoors in our state-of-the-art playground twice a day with enrichments such as gardening.

School Age

Getting ready to move up to kindergarten is exciting – and we want your child to stay excited about learning. Our curriculum helps children develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills they’ll need to succeed in kindergarten, school and life. Teachers plan lessons to deepen understanding of basic academic concepts through exploration, investigation and play. And of course, we make sure they learn all they need to be successful students in kindergarten and beyond. We provide a place where children can challenge themselves and enjoy the thrill of discovery as they look forward to school.

School-age kids want to feel all grown up, yet they still crave comfort and security. Our program is designed to support their increasing interests in sports, art, music and more, both before and after school. Teachers provide a balance of organized and self-selected activities, all in a positive, supportive atmosphere. Whether relaxing, doing homework, or having fun with friends, there is something for all ages. And you’ll have the peace of mind of knowing your child is safe and having fun.

Extra Curricular

Coral Reef Academy offers electives to enrich your child's educational experience.
These Extra Curricular electives include Dancing Little Stars and Soccer Shots.

Soccer Shots

Sport activities help little ones move and build coordination. Participating in outdoor sport activities develops beneficial skills for life. Exposing children at an early age to mental, social, emotional, and physical activity benefits a child's self-esteem, social skills, discipline and team building.

Soccer Shots is offered to 3 to 11 year old’s. For more information visit their web site at SoccerShots.org.

Dancing Little Stars

Dancing is an activity that can start at a young age. In addition to building strong muscles and coordination skills, dance may satisfy young children’s interest in dramatic play by allowing them to use props and have performances. And by no means is dance just for girls, as more boys are participating in these classes.

Dancing Littles Stars is for 3 to 11 year old’s and for more information you may visit their web site at DancingLittleStarsPBB.
